Psychiatry
Support that meets you where you are.At The Practice Poly Clinic, we believe mental well-being is just as important as physical health. Our psychiatry services are designed to help you better understand what you’re going through. We provide the right tools to manage it and work toward lasting emotional well-being.
Anxiety Disorders
Anxiety shows up in different ways: racing thoughts, rapid heartbeat, constant worry, or the inability to relax. We diagnose and treat all forms of anxiety, including:
- Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD): Long-term worry over everyday situations, often with no clear cause.
- Panic Disorder: Sudden, intense fear or panic attacks that seem to come out of nowhere.
- Social Anxiety: Fear of being judged or embarrassed in public or social settings.
- Phobias: Intense fear triggered by specific things like heights, flying, or enclosed spaces.
Treatment may include therapy referrals, medication, and relaxation-based lifestyle interventions.
Depressive Disorders
Feeling “down” occasionally is normal, but if it’s persistent and affecting your daily life, it may be something more.
- Major Depressive Disorder: Ongoing sadness, lack of motivation, sleep changes, and feelings of hopelessness.
- Persistent Depressive Disorder: A milder but longer-lasting form of depression.
- Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD): Depression triggered by changes in seasons or reduced sunlight exposure.
We’ll assess your symptoms and guide you through a treatment plan that can include antidepressants, talk therapy, and wellness-based routines to help lift the fog.
Bipolar & Mood Disorders
If your emotions swing from high-energy confidence to deep lows that last for days or weeks, you may be dealing with a mood disorder.
Balancing the highs and lows, together.
- Bipolar I & II Disorders: Episodes of intense highs (mania or hypomania) followed by lows (depression).
- Cyclothymia: Milder, ongoing mood fluctuations that still affect your functioning.
Managing these conditions requires ongoing care, including mood stabilizers, therapy, and consistent monitoring.
Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD)
When repetitive thoughts and behaviors become disruptive to daily life, it may be OCD. We help manage:
- Intrusive, unwanted thoughts
- Compulsions like checking, cleaning, or counting
- Anxiety around breaking “rules” or patterns
Treatment may include SSRIs (a type of medication) and cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), which we can refer or coordinate for you.
Trauma & Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)
Trauma can live in the body and mind for years. PTSD may result in:
- Nightmares and flashbacks
- Emotional numbness or over-alertness
- Avoidance of people, places, or conversations related to the trauma
Our psychiatrists offer trauma-informed care, helping you process your experience safely with medication if needed, and guiding you to supportive therapies.
Addiction & Substance Use Disorders
Alcohol, prescription medication, or recreational drugs can affect your relationships, work, and health.
Breaking cycles. Rebuilding lives.
We offer:
- Medication-assisted treatment (MAT)
- Counseling referrals
- Detox planning in collaboration with other specialists
- Ongoing support for relapse prevention
Our goal isn’t just detox; it’s long-term recovery.

Struggling to sleep? Constantly overwhelmed?
- Insomnia: Difficulty falling or staying asleep.
- Burnout & Chronic Stress: Mental fatigue that impacts your ability to focus or feel motivated.
- Adjustment Disorders: Difficulty coping with big life changes, such as divorce, loss, or relocation.
We’ll help you identify the triggers and develop a personalized plan for better sleep and stress management.

Some mental health challenges begin early in life or show up as we age.
Supporting minds that think differently.
- ADHD (in adults): Difficulty with focus, impulsivity, and time management.
