When (and where) to get an STD test in Dubai

STD test in Dubai

It can be hard to know when or where you should go to have an STD test in the UAE.

Due to strict regulations in this region, it is only natural to be a little apprehensive about going to be tested but it is crucial not to let this fear dissuade you.

If you take a proactive approach to your sexual health it is simpler to diagnose and treat infections at the earliest stage, avoiding the potentially serious consequences they could have if they are ignored.

It is important to know you may have an STD even if you don’t have any symptoms so it is sensible to take responsibility of your sexual health at all times, as well as that of your partner.

Some STDs do present with certain symptoms and these can vary for men and women. Men should look out for genital discharge and irritation of the urethra, while women should be aware of yellow or green foul smelling discharge and pain during sex. Both sexes should also know that pain while urinating, genital itching or irritation, and blisters, spots or lumps can all be indications of an STD.

At The All England Practice, our doctors are trained to the highest standards and are held to a strict code of ethics. Always discreet, private and confidential, we work with compassion to help you through any diagnosis.

We have several levels of testing that cover a wide range of STDs and we have the knowledge and expertise to treat these infections quickly and efficiently.

Our basic STD test screens for Chlamydia, Mycoplasma, Gonorrhoea, Trichomonas and Ureaplasma. All of these can be easily treated if they are caught early enough, reducing the opportunity for them to develop and become an issue that can affect your reproductive and sexual health.

Additional tests also include Herpes and our comprehensive test looks for all of the above as well as Syphilis.  The comprehensive STD test also offers us early detection for HIV, HBV and HCV, giving you complete peace of mind from as little as 2 weeks post-exposure.

Depending on the level of test you wish to take, your doctor may require a blood test, urine sample, a swab or a combination of all methods.  Test results are usually back within a week and your doctor will contact you via your preferred method, whether that is by phone or email.

Our entire process is focused on confidentiality. Your personal details will not be shared with anyone and we can promise that the entire process is discreet from start to finish.

Whether you are concerned about potential symptoms or simply want the reassurance of a test result, book an appointment through our portal today.  If you would prefer, you can also book an appointment via whatsapp.
