Root Canal Dentist in Dubai

Are you experiencing dental pain and sensitivity?

A root canal treatment may be required if the pulp inside the tooth has been damaged, infected or irritated.

Patients may experience dental sensitivity or discomfort when a tooth is affected by such decay. Symptoms may include swelling of the gum, difficulty chewing or swallowing, and increased sensitivity and pain.

A root canal treatment reduces the risk of a dental abscess forming in such cases and can prevent tooth loss.

When performing the root canal treatment, your dentist will remove any pulp which has been irreversibly damaged and clean the inside of the tooth to remove any infection. In some cases, the root canal treatment may also involve removing the nerve from the inside of the tooth, but this will not affect the day-to-day functioning of the teeth.

Following this, the inside of the tooth will be cleaned and sealed. Depending on the level of decay, the tooth may be sealed by a filling or a crown following the initial root canal treatment. Your dentist will carry out X-rays prior to commencing treatment to confirm how much of the tooth is damaged.

Although many patients are fearful of root canal treatment, it’s not something you need to worry about. We use modern technology that makes the root canal treatment virtually painless.

FAQ's

When is root canal treatment needed?
If the pulp inside the tooth has been damaged, infected or irritated, a root canal treatment may be necessary. Often, decay on the crown or ‘top’ of the tooth enables bacteria to enter the tooth which then causes damage to the pulp. However, dental or facial trauma, a chipped tooth or existing large fillings can also cause the pulp to become irritated.
Are there alternatives to root canal treatment?
In some cases, patients may prefer to have a tooth removed rather than undergo root canal treatment. However, this isn’t always advisable and keeping your natural tooth by undergoing a root canal treatment may be a far simpler and more cost-effective option in the long-term.
How long does root canal treatment take?
Treatment time varies depending on the level of damage to the tooth or the presence of infection. In some cases, a root canal treatment can be performed during one appointment but many patients will need to attend two appointments in order for the treatment to be completed. Your dentist will ensure that the tooth is temporarily sealed before you leave so that you don’t experience pain or discomfort between the two appointments.
Is a root canal treatment painful?
With the use of modern technology and the skill of your dentist, a root canal treatment should be painless.
How much does the root canal cost?
The cost of a root canal treatment can vary on the complexity of the case and can range between AED 2,000 - AED 6,000.
