Lip lifts over lip fillers? Our take on the latest lip plumping fad!

We’re always on the lookout for ways to feel our best.

For some, that’s a fun new makeup look. For others, a gorgeous tan. Whether it’s shoes or eyelash extensions, there is always that special something that makes you feel like you could take on the world. And for many of us, we just love the look of a full, fabulous lip. Few things can boost your confidence as much.

Whether you’ve had your lips plumped before or you’re just exploring your options, it can be a little confusing to know what the best choice is. We’ve been hearing a lot about lip lifts lately and wondered – could a lip lift truly be a better choice than lip fillers?

Lip Fillers

Familiar to many, lip fillers are non-surgically invasive injections used to plump up your lips. Often using a natural substance called hyaluronic acid (which can promote a natural fullness), they last twelve to eighteen months. You can get your lips done using fillers every six months, and the results are proven to be safe and look great. If you see luscious lips in a magazine, such as Kylie Jenner’s, you’re looking at lip fillers! The recovery process is quick and you shouldn’t experience pain beyond some mild bruising and tenderness.

Lip Lifts

Something of a new kid on the block for cosmetic purposes, you may not have heard of the lip lift. This surgical procedure will shorten the space between the nose and the top of the lip (the philtrum). This makes the pink tissue of your lips more obvious and visible, giving your lips more height. It can provide a fuller appearance, but also shows more of the upper teeth as exposed. A small piece of skin is removed, leaving sutures, which will require aftercare. You can expect to experience some soreness.

Our verdict

In our view, lip fillers win every time. With beautiful celebrities such as the Kardashians, Chrissy Teigen and Shruti Haasan opting for them, we know they’re safe, reliable, and produce the stunning result you want.
